    XYC207-1 medium pressure methanol catalyst is primarily designed for ammonia-methanol co-production in synthetic ammonia plants, and can also operate under medium-pressure conditions for standalone methanol synthesis.

  • Operating Conditions of methanol catalyst:


    Normal Operating conditions:

    Temperature: 220℃-300℃

    Pressure: 8 ~ 15 MPa

    Air speed: 10000 ~ 20000 h-1


    Use precautions:

    1. When necessary, perform sieving prior to tower loading to ensure uniform packing, and take precautions to prevent contamination, particle breakage, and moisture exposure. The internal vibration method may be employed during the process.

    2. The reduction process of this methanol catalyst is an exothermic reaction. For the temperature rise reduction, low hydrogen reduction is recommended (initial hydrogen content is 0.5% - 1%, hydrogen concentration is 1 - 2% in the later stage, and hydrogen concentration is gradually increased to >5% at the end). High hydrogen reduction can also be adopted. The key point is to strictly control the reduction rate. During the reduction process, methanol catalyst is required that the temperature rise be stable, the water output be uniform, and thermal runaway should be strictly prevented.

    3. The thermal conductivity of methanol catalyst itself is poor, and large temperature fluctuations will cause local overheating of catalyst bed. Long-term operation at high temperature will accelerate the growth of active copper grains, the gradual loss of active surface, and accelerate the "aging" of catalyst. To ensure methanol catalyst smooth operation, try to use at low temperatures.

    4. The syngas contains a certain amount of CO2, which can increase the yield and selectivity of methanol and prolong the service life of the methanol catalyst;

    5. Strengthen the purification of the gas before the system, reduce the total sulfur content in the raw gas to below 0.05 - 0.1×10-6 (V/V), and strictly prevent the introduction of toxic substances, especially chlorine, sulfur, oil and other impurities;
