Application and characteristics of co shift catalyst:
High temperature CO shift catalyst XYB113 with high quality iron as raw materials, the use of ferrous nitrate solution and chromic anhydride co-precipitation production of iron-chromium catalyst, and add appropriate amount of other auxiliary agent. The co shift catalyst is mainly γ-Fe2O3.It has the characteristics of high intrinsic activity, good low temperature activity, low steam consumption, wide reaction temperature zone, not easy to heat aging, low sulfur content, the first production can reduce the sulfur release time, stable strength after catalytic reduction, not easy to powder, long service life and so on.
The co shift catalyst is suitable for the system of ammonia, methanol, hydrogen plant using natural gas and coke oven gas.
1.Good low temperature activity: co shift catalyst has obvious activity at 250℃. The ideal conversion rate can be obtained when the changing inlet temperature of the furnace is 250~280℃. co shift catalyst is easy to restore to start and stop in short time. The normal use temperature is 360~460℃.
2. High mechanical strength: The mechanical strength of the co shift catalyst does not decrease after reduction, the side pressure strength is ≥210N/Cm. It is not easy to break and pulverize in long-term use and has a certain degree of boiling water resistance. co shift catalyst is suitable for medium and high pressure production equipment.
3. Wide reaction temperature zone: co shift catalyst has good temperature operation elasticity. The bed temperature is from 340 ~ 460℃, as long as the CO in the outlet gas reaches the customer's required indicators. Any operation in this temperature zone does not affect the catalytic activity life.
4. Low steam consumption: Due to the low activation energy of the conversion reaction on the co shift catalyst (intrinsic activation energy is 70.53KJ/mol), high activity and wide temperature zone, the amount of steam added can be reduced to the minimum degree. The normal water-gas ratio is greater than 0.5.
5. Low sulfur content: The sulfur content of the co shift catalyst is less than 250ppm, no need to release sulfur singly. It is very suitable for the process flow of natural gas as raw material which saves production time.

The effects of poisons and impurities:
Pay attention to control the O2 content of the gas and the purity of cold spray water. Sulfur, phosphorus, arsenic and halogen in the gas can poison the co shift catalyst and affect its activity. Dust, carbon black and oil will be deposited on the surface and gap of the co shift catalyst, blocking the contact between the gas and the catalyst, affecting the performance of the co shift catalyst. Prevent Na2CO3 and NaCI from being brought into the system with steam to cause crystallization blockage and poisoning on the surface of co shift catalyst particles.
The measures to extend the service life:
(1) To prevent the direct contact of liquid water with the hot co shift catalyst, the rapid evaporation of water makes the catalyst crumble and the strength decreases.
(2) The sudden and rapid pressure relief of the converter furnace can lead to the burst of the co shift catalyst.
(3) When dry gas or almost dry gas passes through a reduced co shift catalyst at operating temperature, carbon is formed by disproportionation of CO, which can also produce methanation reaction and deep reduction reaction, and the activity decreases.
(4) When the process gas containing insufficient steam (H2O/CO is too low) is in contact with the co shift catalyst, high exothermic methanation reaction will occur and affect the activity.
(5) When the new co shift catalyst is heated with air more than 180°C, the graphite in the catalyst begins to burn.

The loading method and Note:
The loading of co shift catalyst is very important, which will directly affect the bed resistance drop and airflow distribution, and then affect the normal performance of co shift catalyst. The loading can be loaded with a single type of co shift catalyst, or it can be assembled. It is generally filled in the key parts of the upper and final sections of a section, which is economical and reasonable. If you want to use a relatively good old co shift catalyst, it can be filled in the hot spot where the temperature is higher. The purpose of such filling is to ensure that a section speeds up the conversion reaction at a higher temperature and obtains a higher conversion rate at a lower temperature. The change rate is the highest when the total amount of filling is equal, or the steam consumption is the lowest when the change rate is certain.
Note:
● A layer of stainless barbed wire (10 mesh) and refractory balls (φ50 and φ25 each 100mm) are laid on the grate during loading. This prevents the co shift catalyst at the bottom from being denuded and carried into the next process to contaminate and clog the device. co shift catalyst is sure to heavy edge between the barbed wire to prevent the catalyst leaking.
● This co shift catalyst is generally free of dust and debris, no need to sift. When filling, pour gently into the furnace from the lowest height, do not dump them in piles.
● The surface of the bed should be raked flat after loading the co shift catalyst. Do not directly step on the co shift catalyst.
● The staff should wear protective equipment when loading and unloading co shift catalyst.
● The gas into the furnace should be equipped with a gas distribution device to prevent air impact on the catalytic bed.
